RoundCon is a gaming, anime, and fan convention held annually in Columbia, South Carolina usually in the winter over a three day weekend. The convention offers a wide variety of RPG gaming (including RPGA events), board gaming, video gaming, war gaming anime events, cosplay events, artists, writers and much more.

About RoundCon

In 1986, a determined group of gamers led by John Scott founded club known as Round Table, A Gaming Society at the University of South Carolina. The club was modeled after the Knights of Enchantment, another organization at the University of Wyoming. The founders consisted of John Scott, Julia Scott, Arthur Scott, Craig Walters and Wally "Don't go off by yourself" Scrivins. They placed notices around campus to garner interest in the new club. When they held the first official meeting fifteen eager gamers showed up.

Later that year they would hold the first RoundCon Convention in the student union building. The first year there was both a Champions and a AD&D tournament. In addition the convention had anime, movies, a trivia contest, miniature/diorama contest and of course a variety of other role-playing games.

Since those humble beginnings, RoundCon grew beyond the capability for the University to efficiently host or manage. The convention was then held off campus, and over the course of the years in a variety of venues. Alumni took over the responsibilities of hosting Roundcon. Round Table continued to support the convention, providing Game masters and logistical support, until the club officially disbanded in 2003.

For 2011 the convention was re-imagined as RoundCon: Anime and Gaming Expo. The idea was to bring two different convention types and fuse them into one unique event.
